As some of you may know, Windows XP end-of-life passed us just over a year ago. As expected, some developers and programs are slowly beginning to remove their support for the legacy operating system.

Take Sage for example; Sage is used all over the world in small and large businesses for keeping track of your expenditure and finances to paying your hard working employees.

However, the new year-end updates for Sage 50 Payroll and Sage Instant Payroll (Year-end 2015/2016) require an operating system greater than the old favored XP – these updates simply won’t install on a Windows  XP system and without installing these updates you are unable to process your finances for the fourth-coming tax year.

Your Options…

Option 1: If your current computer(s) complies with today’s standards and can support Windows 7, the upgrading the system to comply with Sage’ requirements is a viable solution.

Option 2: The option that applies to most cases – If you are still running Windows XP machines, the chances are they are very old and dated; and won’t run Windows 7. A full new desktop/laptop system is required, we would suggest with Windows 7, but Windows 8.1 is just as good an option.
